World Medical Equipment was recently selected as the refurbisher of choice by Premier. Premier offers Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) contracts only to a very select number of companies nationwide, and only just recently added a category for suppliers of refurbished equipment. The recognition, by Premier, of the robust refurbishing industry, lends credence to the concept of refurbishing in the medical equipment arena, underscoring the fact that companies such as World Medical offer the highest standard of quality along with an unbeatable price reduction of 40 to 60 percent off the price of new equipment.
During the Premier contract selection process, a lengthy audit procedure eliminates companies that do not meet the GPO’s exacting standards for performance, quality, and service. October 2010 Press Release
For many years Ambulatory Surgery Centers have been reaping the savings from purchasing refurbished Surgical Equipment. Recent changes in our healthcare system have placed an even greater financial burden on hospitals. This financial pressure has prompted hospitals to take a closer look at the viability of purchasing refurbished equipment to help curb capital spending. To this end they have requested their GPO’s investigate companies with a proven track record of meeting customer’s value proposition with refurbished equipment. As one might expect organizations like MedAssets implemented a rigorous screening process which involves on-site audits and customer consultations. This process led to the award of a 3 year contract with MedAssets who reach almost 50,000 facilities across the US. World Medical Equipment is extremely proud to have been awarded this contract and is looking forward to working hand in hand with all the member facilities.
April 2010 Press Release
World Medical Equipment has launched a bold new initiative which provides a comprehensive solution to any customer looking to build their own surgery center. For the past two years we have been compiling a team of specialists that would enable us to provide an option to Surgeons and Administrators to the traditional methods of constructing a surgery center. Everything about the traditional approach is custom and requires a huge investment in time from all the parties involved, is subject to price variations due to delays and specification changes and generally takes over 18 months to complete from the point of having signed prints. The World Medical approach dramatically reduces the time spent planning the project, requires no on-site planning meetings in caravans with the owners in less than desirable conditions. There will be no change requests which result in costly over runs and best of all the entire construction process is delivered as much as 50% faster than traditional methods. The net result is a delivered building fully certified, complete with all the required credentialing fully staffed and operational for surgery in a fraction of the time it would normally take, providing the owners with a revenue stream that is delivering an ROI 6-9 months sooner.
